TITEN.B

Titen.B, a Parisian contemporary art sculptor, is an artist whose creativity, attention to finish, and detail make him timeless.

In the 1980s, he met an art teacher who recognized his artistic potential. She encouraged him to take an interest in art history and invited him to exhibitions outside of school hours. He then engaged in graffiti and oriental calligraphy, marking amphoras, vases, and walls of abandoned factories. He discovered adhesive vinyl, textile painting, which allowed him to personalize T-shirts and jeans for his friends or customize their scooters.

He joined the Beaux-Arts of Paris and graduated at the top of his class with honors. In the 1990s, Titen.B worked as a graphic designer for a computer magazine at IBM.Despite a good salary, he could not see himself confined to an office and dreamed of something bigger. He launched several streetwear clothing brands that made him known in the French rap and streetwear scene. In the early 2000s, he created his advertising design company. Although this activity tapped into his creative potential, it did not fulfill his need to give shape to his own creations through various materials. He then discovered laser cutting, seeing enormous potential in this little-used technique, which he could combine with existing DTP processes.

Thus, he embarked on projects that had been dormant for nearly 25 years due to a lack of technical knowledge. Titen.B uses and combines different materials such as polymers, skins, cast plexiglass, and paints. An artistic potential that only needed to be fully expressed.

ANALOgy

• ANALOGY OF THE CONTENT

The Artist explores the transformation of the mundane into luxury objects. Through creations such as a gasoline can metamorphosed into a Chanel perfume bottle or a Dom Pérignon bottle, the artist challenges our perception of value and luxury. These works provoke reflection on the symbols of social status and how everyday objects can be reinvented and reevaluated.

• BEYOND THE CHAMPION, THE MASTER

The Artist explores the relationship between icons and the products that bear their names. Through creations such as Paul Newman wearing his Rolex watch, which became the famous Paul Newman, or Michael Jordan sporting the Nike Air sneakers named after him, the artist highlights the link between personal fame and influence on consumer culture. These works invite reflection on how famous personalities shape our perception of brands and products.

• SENSE & ICONIC COMMON SENSE

The Artist explores the marriage between iconic symbols and examples such as the Rolex logo reproduced in volume with a crown and dollars in the background. The artist creates bold visual juxtapositions. These works question our relationship with money and symbolic digital power.

• INTROSPECTION OF LUXURY

The Artist explores the notion of luxury in relation to pleasure and personal identity. Through creations such as a message stating, "Luxury is not a pleasure, but pleasure is a luxury," set against a stylized Louis Vuitton trunk, or a similar message with a Christian Dior signed surfboard in the background, the artist invites reflection on the meaning of luxury in our society. These works question our relationship with luxury brands, social status, and our personal quest for happiness
